Still Rising Institute is a nonprofit educational and research organization dedicated to understanding and cultivating the capacities that help individuals and communities flourish.
We believe that while opportunities, technologies, and institutions change, certain capacities remain essential. The ability to think, learn, adapt, create, build relationships, contribute to others, and shape one’s future has helped individuals and communities thrive across generations.
Our work is grounded in a simple observation: education is about more than achievement, attainment, or readiness. At its best, education develops the capacity to act, contribute, lead, and build.
Through educational programs, community partnerships, family engagement, and applied research, we explore the conditions that help young people develop agency and use their gifts to strengthen the people and communities around them.
